Podocarpus Polystachyus (Buddhist Pine / Luo Han Song)

Buddhist Pine (Podocarpus polystachyus), known as Luo Han Song, is a fine-needled conifer used for formal shaping. Narrow strap-like leaves packed densely along upright branches. Takes clipping exceptionally well, which is why it is favoured for formal hedging, screens and topiary.

One of the few tropical species that takes precise topiary and formal clipping, which is why it dominates oriental-style and hotel entrance planting. Slow, dense, and holds a shaped outline for a long time between trims. Supplied farm-direct as mature stock, ready to establish on your project from day one.
