Madras Thorn (Pithecellobium dulce) is a tough shade tree for hot, dry and difficult ground. Wide-spreading and drought-hardy, with small paired leaflets, thorny branches and curiously twisted pods. Thrives where conditions are harsh.

Survives conditions that defeat most amenity trees — thin soil, full sun, no irrigation. Used on reclaimed ground, industrial margins and roadsides where establishment risk needs to be low. Supplied farm-direct as mature stock, ready to establish on your project from day one.
