Mesua Ferrea (Pokok Penaga Lilin)

Pokok Penaga Lilin (Mesua ferrea) is a native ironwood grown for its brilliant red-pink new growth. Spectacular in flush, when limp new leaves emerge pink-red and hang before hardening to dark green. Large white flowers with golden stamens follow. Dense, slow and long-lived.

The hanging flushes of scarlet-pink new leaves are the reason it is planted, appearing several times a year. Slow and dense, suiting formal and heritage positions where it will be seen at close range. Supplied farm-direct as mature stock, ready to establish on your project from day one.
