Ardisia Elliptica (Mata Pelanduk / Shoebutton Ardisia)
Mata Pelanduk (Ardisia elliptica) is a native understorey species long used in Malaysian coastal planting. A tidy evergreen shrub with glossy leaves that flush pink-bronze before hardening to deep green. Pale pink flowers give way to berries that ripen red then near-black. Tolerates shade and coastal exposure.
Used for low hedging and mass planting under established canopy, where most flowering shrubs thin out. Holds a dense habit in shade and tolerates salt spray, making it a reliable choice for coastal resort planting. Supplied farm-direct as mature stock, ready to establish on your project from day one.
